Riyad Mahrez said to be unhappy at Manchester City as European giants eye former Leicester City winger
Former Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is said to be unhappy with his current game time at Manchester City and is eyeing up a potential move to two European giants.
The Algerian left the Foxes in 2018, having helped the side to title glory in 2016 and in his last season with the club, produced 12 goals and 11 assists to catch the eye on City boss Pep Guardiola
His subsequent £60 million move set a club record departure at the time before being beaten by Harry Maguire's move to Manchester United.
According to reports by footmercato.net, Mahrez is said to be unhappy with the current game time he has been given under Guardiola despite currently being City's top goalscorer this season in all competitions and scoring nine goals last season.
Mahrez has only started twice this season in the premier league, seeing him having to make an impact from the bench, which could cause the 30-year-old to "change his tune" despite being contracted to the club until 2023.
In the mix to sign Mahrez is two European giants in Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, who reportedly "still appreciate his profile", having been interested in him in the past.
Any January move, however, could be hindered with Mahrez away on international duty, playing in the delayed 2021 Africa Cup of Nations to be held between January 9 and February 6, 2022.
